I am participating in
Kelly's Korner- Show us your hometown!
We live in a wonderful little town called Ruston & love it. It is a town of about 30,000, including the students of
Louisiana Tech University.

We are known for the wonderful peaches grown here! You are missing out if you've never enjoyed a Ruston Peach!!
Mitchams Peach Orchard has been operating since 1946 & also has a "Peach Store" you can check out online. They sell all kinds of peach products- jellies, preserves, butter, salsas, etc...

Are these peach trees not beautiful?! You should get a view
of the entire orchard when they are blooming!
The
Louisiana Peach Festival will be held for the 60th time next month! It is held each June, during the peak of peach season, and is a weekend full of festivities. It is held in the heart of our city, in downtown Ruston amongst all kinds of shops & restaurants.
Ruston is revitalizing the downtown area right now with new sidewalks, underground cables, etc.. Railroad Park is in the center of the city & so many great events are held there! The City implemented "First Fridays" last year & there are always great things going on downtown on those days. Music, food, shopping.. Everything at your fingertips. On Saturday mornings the
Ruston Farmers Market is held just around the corner.
Ruston is very fortunate to have
Squire Creek Country Club just a few miles away. It is a top notch club with a fantastic golf course designed by Tom Fazio. You can't imagine how beautiful the grounds are. Just a drive through the area is breathtaking.
A great asset to our city is Lincoln Parish Park. It is beautiful & provides so much for our city. Their are extensive bike trails, pavillions, playgrounds, campsites, a lake with a beach area, etc.. Their are triathlons, bike races, etc held here often & people come from all over to participate in these.

Check out the
City of Ruston's facebook photo album to see more photos of our unique & beautiful southern town! Seeing these photos make me realize what all I take for granted living here!
