Hudson is 1!

Hudson, you are ONE year old! (yesterday, June 30)

You have been such a blessing to your Daddy & I & we have enjoyed every minute of your life. Yes, even those sleepless nights in the very beginning. You are so full of energy it is hard to keep up! You smile & laugh all the time & if we think something is funny, you will just keep on doing it. You love to be outside so much, but it is just too hot this time of year. Since you can't go out there much, you stand at each window & bang loudly & just talk up a storm while standing there looking outside. You love to wander around the house. You aren't even afraid of the dark. You will wonder all the way down the dark hallway & enter which ever room you find an open door into. Seeing you exploring & learning is so much fun. I never knew what pleasure I would receive by seeing you figure something out for the first time. It is lots of fun when you do something that we've been "practicing."

Here are a few bullet points about 12 month old Hudson:

*You sleep 11 1/2 hours each night in your own bed without waking. You go down at 7:30pm & wake up about 6:45 or 7am.

*You still take 2 naps each day.

*You weigh 27 lbs & are 32 3/4 inches tall!

*You have 9 teeth. 4 on top in the front & 4 on botton in the front. And the 9th is a big tooth in the back top of your mouth.

*You are officially off the bottle & formula. Big boys drink milk & use sippy cups! :-)

*You are on all table food & are not a picky eater. Hope it stays that way!

*You only get your paci in your crib for sleepy time or occasionally in the car.

*You have been walking for a month & a half. You took your first steps on May 17.

*You love your bath & cry when we get you out.

*You are talking more & more every single day. You are saying the following words: Mama, Daddy, Bye Bye, Uh Oh, Baby, Baby Bear, Beep Beep, Baba, Bubbles, Hey, Book. Can't think of the rest right now! I guess that B sound is an easy one for you!

*You are 90 to nothing ALL THE TIME! You do not like to sit in our laps. You'll let us hold you & walk around but the minute we sit down, you arch that back & scoot right down onto the floor. You run & play & occasionally you'll come to us & give us love & then go right back to playing.

*Peek a Boo is your absolute favorite game right now. It never gets old to you.

*You love any kind of ball & will sit & throw/roll it back & forth with us.

*Daddy taught you to give us High Fives!

*You blew me a kiss for the first time yesterday!

You are so special to us, Hudson, & we love you so very much! You are the light of our lives & create so much joy in our home! We can't wait to see the changes that take place over the next year!
